Archaeology Education

A primary function of the Coosawattee Foundation is to educate the public about archaeology and archaeological resources, in the hope that a more well-informed public will recognize the need to incorporate archaeological resources into planning for future development and growth in archaeologically sensitive areas. To this end, CFI has recently initiated a public archaeology program in the Calhoun-Gordon County area of Northwest Georgia, funded in part by a major grant from the Educational Foundation of America.

Below are links to individual pages describing a range of archaeology education programs offered by the Coosawattee Foundation, and to a variety of online educational resources developed by CFI relating to the archaeology, prehistory, and natural environment of Northwest Georgia, including links to other pages with similar or related resources and programs.
